The Incredibles. DVD Review“Often times people call animation a genre, and that is completely wrong. It is a medium that expresses any genre,” said Brad Bird, director of “The Incredibles.” Well, in the genre of animated action feature, Bird certainly hit the mark with this Oscar-winning film. “The Incredibles” is another powerhouse from Pixar Studios, the creator of “Toy Story,” “A Bug’s Life,” “Monsters, Inc.” and “Finding Nemo.”

This action-packed comedy is an absolute scream. The story is based on the lives of superheroes trying to lead normal lives after being banished and forced into hiding. These supers have been living among us and they have been trying to fit in but it is not all that easy for the former Mr. Incredible, who insists on trying to relive the glory days. But when his chance to bounce back into his old habits appears, Mr. Incredible can’t turn away. Set out on a mission to help a scientist, Mr. Incredible ends up with a new enemy and a new villain. But what about the family? Well as every great family is, they are right behind him, fighting alongside him every step of the way Ч even if they are battling sibling rivalry and adolescent social issues.

The Incredibles is a great, fun-loving movie; and it is a treat to share with family, friends or even to keep all to yourself. Pixar’s previous animated features were rated G, but guess what? This one carries a PG because the violence is much more vivid.
